Západočeská univerzita v Plzni (ZČU)
University of West Bohemia is a dynamically developing university located in the city of Plzeň.
Among the 9 faculties of the University, it is worth noting the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art, the youngest higher art school in the Czech Republic.
Plzeň is the fourth city in the Czech Republic, a major cultural, economic, and industrial center. One of the largest Czech companies—Škoda—is located here.
The University consists of 60 Departments.
More than 15,000 students study in Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees programs.
The University is a major center of science, as evidenced by large-scale investments both in the development of the University and in the construction of the University’s campus.
In recent years, the number of research projects implemented at the University has been growing rapidly.
Prestigious awards for their work are received not only by University researchers, but also by students.
ZČU actively participates in EU educational projects.
On the basis of the University, there is a Science and Technology Park, a joint project of ZČU, the Innovation Business Center, and the Plzeň City Administration. The goal is to establish close ties with commercial and industrial sectors.
