The University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague is the largest university of chemistry not only in the Czech Republic but also in all of Central and Eastern Europe.
The university was founded in 1952 and has a rich history. World renowned chemists, some of whom were Nobel laureates in Chemistry, were professors of various departments of the University of Chemistry and Technology.
The university has state-of-the-art equipment and collaborates with over 40 universities all over the world.
Many leading industry companies, including the largest Czech oil refining company Unipetrol and Zentiva pharmaceutical company, support the university's scientific and educational projects. Here, every student has the opportunity to join a scientific project they're most interested in or participate in a student exchange program and ultimately land a prestigious and well-paid job in the Czech Republic or abroad.
Admittance to Bachelor's programs at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague does not require any entrance exams. Instead, applicants are admitted based on a rating compiled from their grades in Chemistry and Mathematics for the last four years of school.
Foreign applicants will have to take an Czech language exam at the VŠCHT department of languages. The exam consists of a written test in Czech at CEFR level B2 that includes natural science terminology and an oral test of basic terminology in Chemistry and Mathematics.
