The University of Brno in the Czech Republic was founded in 1919. Today, a wide range of traditional and new specialities are taught here.

More than 1400 specialities are taught.
Masaryk University is the most popular with applicants in the Czech Republic. For several years in a row the university has been the leader in the number of applications.
The university has 40,844 students, of whom 7,021 are foreigners.
The university is home to research institutes such as the International Institute of Political Science and the Central European Institute of Technology.
Professors from prestigious European and American universities, heads of large companies, as well as high-ranking government officials and diplomats from around the world teach individual lectures and even entire courses at the university.
At Masaryk University it is possible to study two or more specialities at the same time.
Studies take place mainly in Czech, but every year the number of programmes available in English (and other foreign languages) increases.
The Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Social Sciences are particularly popular with applicants.
Submission of applications
For admission after school (nostrification of the school leaving certificate is required) to a Bachelor's (3 years of study) or Master's (5 years of study) programme - from 1 November to 28 February. For admission to a Bachelor's/Master's degree programme (nostrification of the Bachelor's/Master's diploma is required) - from 1 February to 30 April.
Entrance examinations
For Bachelor's (3 years) and Master's (5 years) programmes, all faculties except for the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Social Sciences are subject to the TSP Prerequisites Test.
In addition, some specialities have profile tests and the Faculty of Sport has a practical exam. The profile examinations take place in June.
For admission to a Master's programme after a Bachelor's degree, the subject-specific examinations are taken.
Faculties, directions and conditions of admission
Faculty of Law
The Faculty of Law has only one speciality - Law and Jurisprudence. The studies are continuous for 5 years (not divided into Bachelor's and Master's programmes) until the Master's degree is awarded.
It is possible to obtain a full-fledged legal education only at 4 Czech universities: Charles University in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno, Palacky University in Olomouc and West Bohemian University in Pilsen.
The entrance examination is the TSP test. The competition for the Faculty of Law is large (600 out of 2400 applicants are admitted). In order to be admitted, you need to have a high TSP score (according to the statistics of previous years, the last applicant admitted to the speciality of law had a percentile of 82%.
Faculty of Medicine
The studies at the Faculty of Medicine in General Medicine and Dentistry are not divided into Bachelor's and Master's programmes and are continuous until the Master's title is obtained.

Entrance examinations take place in the middle of June. These are written tests in biology, physics and chemistry.

Depending on the speciality, subject tests are taken (mainly biology, physics, chemistry, somatology for some specialities). Foreign applicants are not required to have a Czech language certificate.

Entrance examinations for foreign applicants
Czech applicants to the Faculty of Social Sciences of Masaryk University take the Test of General Prerequisites for Studies (optional: either the TSP of Masaryk University or the national examination OSP of the SCIO organisation) and the national examination Fundamentals of Social Sciences ZSV of the SCIO organisation.
However, instead of these examinations, foreign applicants have the right to write a special test for foreign applicants in the Fundamentals of Social Sciences directly at the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University in Brno.
This test includes questions on the basics of social sciences at the level of a Czech high school graduate (questions on psychology, sociology, philosophy, economics, political science, law, European integration, modern history). The entrance examination for foreign applicants to the Faculty of Social Studies takes place at the beginning of May. The exam is written and computer-based.
Foreign applicants must also submit (on the day of the examination at the latest) a document of nostrification of their school-leaving certificate and a certificate of Czech language proficiency at the ALTE level B2. Foreign applicants will not be allowed to take the exam without nostrification and a certificate of Czech language proficiency at the B2 level.

In addition to the TSP, sports norms are taken (depending on the speciality - running, swimming, gymnastics, etc.). It is also obligatory to submit a doctor's certificate on the state of health that allows you to study at the Faculty of Sport.
