About the institution
The Academy consists of two faculties - music and theatre. There are bachelor's, master's and doctoral programmes. Students stage operas and musicals at the Divadlo na Orlí art stage, and dramatic productions at the Marta Theatre Studio. Students at the academy also have a recording studio equipped with high-class musical instruments.
Brief information
The Academy is named after Leoš Janáček, a famous Czech composer who lived most of his life in Brno.
The Janáček Academy in Brno was opened in 1947.
Today there are 700 students studying at the two faculties of the Academy.
Within the ERASMUS + programme, Janáček Academy cooperates with many theatre and music universities in Europe. The list of partner universities is constantly expanding. For example, from 2017, students will go on exchange to the French university École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et - Techniques du Théâtre (ENSATT) in Lyon.
The International Interpretation Courses, the annual Setkání/Encounter Theatre Festival and the Leoš Janáček Competition are of international prestige.

For Bachelor's and Continuing Master's degrees, the deadline is 30 November; for Post-Bachelor's degrees, the deadline is 30 March.
