About the institution
The university bears the name of the famous Czech physiologist, anatomist, politician, teacher, member of the spiritual order of Piarists, Jan Evangelista Purkinje (1787-1869).

The university has been operating since 1991 and consists of 8 faculties.
More than 12,000 students study at the university.
Practical training in the speciality is a mandatory component of education. Students' bachelor's and diploma theses meet the needs of enterprises and organisations.
With the financial support of the ERASMUS+ programme, students have the opportunity to go on an exchange trip to a foreign university or to do an internship at a foreign enterprise, educational or research centre.
Every year the University offers 200 ERASMUS+ scholarships to its students. The University cooperates on the programme with 200 universities from 26 European countries.

Bachelor's degree programmes are 4 years long. They accept approximately 4 students per atelier. Application deadline: until 16 January. Entrance examinations take place in February. Foreign applicants must pass a certificate at A2 level at a state university. Entrance examinations are held in two rounds. 1st round - portfolio. Round 2 - composition, modelling, drawing, interview, written test on the history of art (the priority of disciplines depends on the speciality).
