Free education

Free education is available in the Czech Republic. To do so, you must choose a program in the Czech language. You can take language courses beforehand and obtain a certificate from B2 or take an entrance exam.

Language courses last an average of one year and allow you to be well prepared for budgetary enrollment. If the applicant chooses to study in English, the budgetary basis is not available.

During the study period, the funds are also spent on food, transportation around the city and entertainment - 5-8 thousand kronor. Non-residents can rent an apartment or choose a hostel. The second option is more popular, as it allows you to save money. There are several options of dormitories in the campus, and their cost varies depending on the conditions, on average 2.5-5 thousand crowns monthly. All rooms are equipped with furniture, plumbing, study areas, a common library, and laundry rooms.

Scholarship

For foreigners, the costs of studying and living in Brno may not seem small. However, the management takes care of its students and tries to motivate them. For example, various scholarships, including those of international level, are widespread. They are given to active students who participate in research, speak at conferences. Grants are allocated that completely cover the education fee.

Every student is entitled to receive payments (the amount is specified in kronor):

  • for living expenses - 600-700 per month;

  • for high academic performance (total score not higher than 1.5) - 10000 per year;

  • social (in order to avoid contradictions, it is not necessary to indicate the lack of housing as a reason for payment, because when applying for a study visa it is indicated that the migrant has a place to live);

  • doctorate - 6000-7000 per month.

Comparison with other universities in the country

Compared to other educational institutions in Brno, Mendel University is not among the most expensive. One of the leaders here is Palacky University, where the annual fee starts from 6500 euros. Next comes West Bohemian University in Pilsen, Czech Technical University, Charles University in Prague, Masaryk University - from 3000 to 5000 euros, Brno Technical University from 1500 euros.

Why go to Mendel University?
