The University of South Bohemia is a State University located in Ceske Budejovice. The profile of the university is natural, humanitarian and social sciences. The University’s campus is one of the most beautiful in the Czech Republic.
The University of South Bohemia is the best among all young universities in the Czech Republic. Championship of the University of South Bohemia confirms the global ranking of universities by The Times Higher Education (THE) in 2020. In the Young University Rankings, the University of South Bohemia is ranked 201-250 in the world and 1 in the Czech Republic.
The University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice is a modern educational institution, a center of science and research in the South of the Czech Republic. The University of South Bohemia was founded in 1991. The University continued the tradition of training teachers and specialists in various fields of agro-industrial production, theological research, and fish farming developed in Ceske Budejovice.
The University has 9,000 students in 220 specialties of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies.
The University consists of 8 faculties: economic, fisheries and water protection, philosophical, pedagogical, natural history, theological, medical social and agricultural.
The University of South Bohemia cooperates with 400 universities around the world. The University supports study and research trips of students abroad.
Together with the Johannes Kepler University in Linz (Austria), the University of South Bohemia implements training in the Biological Chemistry specialty. Also, the University of South Bohemia offers students the opportunity to obtain a double degree in cooperation with partner foreign universities.
The University of South Bohemia is included in the world rankings of universities, for example, the THE ranking in 2020 put the university in 201-250 place.
A significant success of the University of South Bohemia is the opening of the CENAKVA fish farming and water protection center, which is unique on a European scale, and the opening of its own polar research station in Spitsbergen.
Graduates of the University of South Bohemia are in demand in the labor market. The unemployment rate among them is no more than 5 %.

It is one of the most modern educational institutions in the whole of Europe, training specialists in fishing, management and environmental protection in the Czech Republic and Europe. The faculty has experimental equipment for studying aquaculture, hydrobiology, toxicology, fish diseases, reproduction, genetics, and fish breeding.
