An emphasis during studying is placed on practical training. Students improve their knowledge gained within the walls of the university by working in sport clubs, fitness and wellness centers in Prague and participating in the main sport events of the country. PALESTRA is a partner of Prague International Marathon for 16 years.
Bachelor's degree
Two specializations are offered as part of the Bachelors's programme. Specialization "Sports and Fitness" offers studying sports subjects with an emphasis placed on the didactic (conduction of sports events). Students are offered a wide range of classes: skiing, cycling, boating, hiking courses, etc. Specialization "Sports and Leisure Education" includes a big number of subjects in the field of education and psychology. The students are taught to manage projects that are focused on the support of the leisure activities and personal development for different target groups.
Master's degree
College of Physical Education and Sport PALESTRA reacts immediately to the market demands. The university recently opened a new Master's programme Wellness. It is the only university that offers studying such modern and very demanded programme.
The University PALESTRA cooperates with sport associations and offers its students an opportunity to receive different coaching licenses. For instance, one can receive a football referee license UEFA B during studying.
In addition, students have an opportunity to receive a number of certificates that are required for further entrepreneur work (a ski coach certificate, swimming coach, a fitness center instructor, a specialist in the field of sports and fitness massage, etc.).
The University PALESTRA is distinct for its excellent technical facilities; it has a modern diagnostic center of its own. Students have wide opportunities to participate in international exchange programs.
Studying is implemented in the form of full-time and combined form of study.
Admission
Applicants are admitted on the basis of the results of the oral interview.
Tuition fee
under the Bachelor's programme Sports and Fitness is 58 000 CZK per year
under the Bachelor's programme Sports and Leisure Education is 49 500 CZK per year
under the Master's programme Wellness is 53 000 CZK per year.
